As a Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster, you’ll handle all aspects of third-party injury claims resulting from personal auto losses, including the investigation, evaluation, and settlement of Bodily Injury claims. Under moderate supervision using company guidelines, the adjuster should make appropriate decisions regarding coverage and injury claim values. Working remotely is an option for this role. What you'll doMake timely and appropriate contacts with necessary parties and take detailed recorded statements to determine liability and obtain injury informationDetermine and complete appropriate level of investigation which includes but is not limited to reviewing policy contracts and communicating with underwriting for coverage determinations Determine exposure, establishes adequate initial reserves and make timely adjustments to reserves as requiredPromptly adjust personal lines auto claims across the United States while adhering to the company’s Best Practices and Fair Claim Handling GuidelinesComplete thorough coverage and liability investigations, assess the appropriate negligence percentage to the parties involved and resolve disputesObtain and review necessary medical documentation in order to evaluate, negotiate and settle minor to moderate bodily injury claims directly with claimants or their attorneysDraft coverage lettersSubmit timely and accurate large loss reports to managementConsistently provide excellent customer serviceIdentify subrogation potential and pursue when appropriateProvide backup assistance to team members when necessaryEffectively manage workload and tasks to keep claims current and documented appropriatelyThis might describe youBachelor’s degree desiredExperience handling bodily injury and liability claims in a multi-state area preferredExperience handling litigation preferredEffective and efficient use of computer applications including MS Office productsExcellent organizational skills and written and verbal communication skillsExperience in multiple jurisdictions is desiredMust be detailed orientedMust be able to maintain a high level of accuracyAbility to work with highly confidential informationMust be licensed and bondableAbility to work independentlyMust be able to travel to the home office on a quarterly basis if working remotelyFamiliarity of public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable.
