Senior Front-End Web Developer

Aequilibrium is seeking a Senior Front-End Web Developer with expertise in building financial services web applications on digital banking platforms like Central1 Forge, Backbase, Plumery, Temenos, or VeriPark. You are passionate about code and a maestro regarding pixel-perfect UI development. You work with enterprise-level businesses, with tens of thousands+ users visiting the sites, SPAs, and code that you create on a daily basis. You work with the latest versions of React 19 and modern Typescript, so if that's your thing, keep reading! You’ll work shoulder to shoulder with our teams, partners, and clients. What You Will DoDevelop, optimize, and maintain responsive web applications leveraging front-end development using HTML5, CSS3, JS frameworks, and integration with 3rd party applicationsWork on complex enterprise solutions/applications in the front end using React 19 + TypescriptBuild on top of applications developed with technologies such as Spring Boot, Spring Security, Web MVC, and using application servers such as Tomcat, WebSphere, Weblogic or JBoss. Work with SOAP and RESTful web services using tools such as XML, JSON and RAMLIdentify and communicate technical problems, processes, and solutionsPerform technical analysis, design, coding, and implementation of large-scale object-oriented applicationCollaborate with the team to assist in the development of logical specificationsIntegrate modern solutions with legacy systemsWork in an Agile software development environment using methodologies such as ScrumPrepare reports and other documentation as requiredSkills and Qualifications6+ years of experience as a Front End Web Developer in a tech professional services / digital agencyExperience with Central1 Forge, Temenos, VeriPark, Plumery, or Backbase digital banking platforms is a big plusConsultative, resourceful, proactive, comfortable interacting with clients to solve their business challengesProficiency in React 19 and modern TypeScriptExperience with React Router v7 (SSR) for server-side rendering and routingStrong knowledge of Node.js 20 + Express 5 in a full-stack environmentFamiliarity with Vite 6 as a build tool and modern frontend tooling ecosystemExperience with Firebase Authentication (or other authentication providers)Strong grasp of UI/UX implementation using Radix UI and data visualization with Victory ChartsExperience with Google Maps API integrationSolid understanding of i18next for internationalization/localizationStrong knowledge of form validation & schema validation (e.g., Zod)Hands-on experience with end-to-end testing using PlaywrightAbility to write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practicesGit and GitflowAbility to write clean, readable, maintainable codeTeamwork and experience performing peer code reviewSoft SkillsAbility to learn fast and ready to make a big impactUnderstand what it means to be a consultantTeamwork, reliability and positive attitudeGreat interpersonal skills (aka clients love you!)Ability to handle working on multiple projects or tasks and keep them all under controlPassionate about technology and using it to help solve business issuesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsMaking recommendations from a development perspective for practical solutions, time estimates and overall feasibility means being comfortable standing your groundNice to HaveExperience integrating AI/ML SDKs (e.g., OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, Vercel AI SDK)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment (e.g., Vercel, Firebase Hosting, Docker)Understanding of web security best practices (authentication, authorization, XSS/CSRF prevention)Familiarity with Agile development workflow and Git-based collaborationStrong sense of UI/UX collaboration with designers and product managersExperience with or knowledge of Agile Methodologies, such as Scrum and KanbanEducationA Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent)About AequilibriumAequilibrium is a technology professional services organization voted multiple times among the Top 5 Best Companies in BC to work for, consistently ranked among the Top 5 Digital Agencies in Vancouver, and winner of multiple VancouverUX Awards for product design.
