Job Summary The Director of Project Management (Administrator VII) will provide strategic and tactical direction to the PMO, overseeing project portfolio management, talent development, and process improvement. This fully remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, with the expectation of occasional on-site presence at BWI Marshall Airport for critical meetings and emergencies. Key Responsibilities Lead the PMO and provide strategic direction to achieve business objectives, mission, and goals. Oversee and manage all PMO functional areas, including project manager support, talent management, portfolio management, risk management, resource management, and quality management. Manage the project portfolio, including portfolio planning, resource leveling, prioritization, progress reporting, and issue escalation. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the PMO and across the organization. Develop and implement project management process improvements, leveraging industry best practices and emerging trends. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Designate as 'Emergency Essential' in the event of airport emergencies, weather emergencies, or irregularities, with potential extended shifts and on-call requirements during off-hours, holidays, and weekends. Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Six (6) years of experience in administrative or professional work, with five (5) years of experience leading projects, managing teams, and overseeing project life cycles. Two (2) years of experience in managing technology system implementations, project management process improvements, or serving as an information systems portfolio manager. Preferred qualifications include: Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Prince2, or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP). Experience leading IT projects and overseeing IT project life cycles from inception to completion. Experience serving as an information systems portfolio manager. Project management process improvement experience. Great problem-solving skills and proficiency in identifying and mitigating project risks. Experience in construction management or familiarity with construction processes. Substitutions for required experience are available for candidates with relevant education, military service, or other equivalent experience.
