Role and Responsibilities: The Front Line Associate Lead plays a vital role in front-end operations by guiding sales associates, maintaining impulse displays, ensuring excellent customer service, and supporting smooth daily store activities. Key responsibilities include: • Customer Service: Oversee cashier teams across multiple registers, approve voids and overrides, assist customers at checkout, and ensure accurate, efficient transactions. • Cash Handling: Monitor cash levels, conduct drawer pulls, prepare bank deposits, and reconcile tills according to company security and accountability standards. • Training and Development: Support onboarding and training of new cashiers on cash handling, scanning, and customer engagement to maintain high service quality. • Store Operations: Adhere to company procedures, keep the front-end area clean, monitor security cameras for unusual activity, and ensure paperwork is completed accurately and promptly. • Leadership: Serve as the main contact in the absence of the Front-End Lead, delegate tasks, improve team productivity, and motivate employees through effective leadership. Required Skills and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent • 6 months to 1 year of retail experience, lead experience preferred • Knowledge of cash handling, cashier accountability, and deposit procedures • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages • Proficiency in operating cash registers and following safety and facility protocols • Strong verbal and written communication abilities • Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandising instructions • Willingness to obtain local or state food handling certification if required Additional Requirements: • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs • Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays • Adherence to all company policies and procedures Compensation and Benefits: Dollar General offers competitive pay, career advancement opportunities, and a supportive work environment.
