As a Robotics Engineering Intern: Software you will join our Robotics Software Engineering Team onsite in our Gardena, CA office to develop and implement algorithms and architecture for production software by working with physical robots, sensors, and tools. Role & ResponsibilitiesThe Robotics Engineering Intern: Software will work closely with a team of robotics, software, and mechanical engineers to develop and implement algorithms and architecture for production software by working with physical robots, sensors, and tools. The role will focus on the fundamentals of planning, learning, perception, and control to solve practical problems. Develop and implement algorithms, systems, and architecture for high-DOF robotic systems working in a constrained environmentSupport development of high-performance production-ready software packages and systems by enabling GPU programming and other hardware acceleration methodsTest and evaluate current state-of-art algorithms and techniques of planning, learning, perception, and controlExport Control RequirementsIn order to comply with the export regulations of the United States Government, it is required that the applicant must fall under one of the following categories: (i) U. S. citizen or national, (ii) U. S. lawful permanent resident (i.e. current green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U. S. C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U. S. C. § 1158. Minimum QualificationsCurrently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a BS, or MS degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field1+ year(s) of demonstrated programming experience in C++ or Python codingProficiency in calculus, linear algebra, probability, and statisticsExcellent technical and analytical skillsSelf-motivated, proactive, with confidence and initiative for innovationAbility to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple teamsWillingness to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing prioritiesMust meet export control requirements in the United States and maintain ongoing work authorization beginning at the time of hire through the entirety of employment.
