Business Unit/Role Specific Info We are looking for Software Engineering Interns to join our 10-week Summer Internship Program, which will provide you with real, on-the-job work experience whilst allowing you to choose from several potential roles within our scrum teams; giving you the skills and experience to help you accelerate in your studies and future career! Ever wondered what it’s like to work on J. D. Power’s #1 ranked Mobile App and Website? Do you know what it takes to setup a near real-time transaction anomaly alerting system? As an American Express Software Engineer Intern, you will gain hands- on experience building global- scale software using a wide range of tools and frameworks! Internship project areas range from machine learning, using big data, native mobile applications, backend services, full stack web applications, or UX/UI focused development. You will collaborate across our technology stack – whether that’s Spring Cloud and WebFlux for reactive Java services, Node.js for backend APIs, or React for building dynamic front-end applications within a microservices architecture. What type of work can you expect? How will you make an impact in this role? • Discover and explore new technologies to solve real-work business challenges. • Contribute to agile scrum team by developing and testing applications. • Gain hands-on experience writing code, conducting code reviews, and creating until tests. • Collaborate with Product Managers, Senior Engineers, and Application Architects to design and prioritize features. • Engage in social events, community service projects, and collaborative initiatives with fellow interns. Minimum Qualifications • Master's/MBA degree candidates with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027 • Currently enrolled in a Master's/MBA degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical field Preferred Qualifications • Experience in developing products or projects either in an academic, professional, or personal setting. • Familiarity with software development, design or creative technical projects at an entry level. • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate work to team members and partners.
