About the Role We are seeking an experienced and skilled Financial Analyst 1 to join our team as a Remote Operational and Financial Services Specialist. About the Position The Financial Analyst 1 will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including: Processing and servicing operational and financial transactions and services, such as accounts payable, purchasing, recharge billing, travel/entertainment coordination, data collection, data entry, analysis, review, control, customer servicing, and reporting. Utilizing professional financial concepts, applying policy knowledge, and organizational processes to resolve routine issues, customer inquiries, and problems with a medium level of complexity. Working on assignments that are typically routine, requiring sound judgment and limited decision-making. Providing excellent customer service, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. Collaborating with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives. Staying up-to-date with financial policies, procedures, and regulations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to have: A minimum of 1 year of finance-related experience. A Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training. Basic knowledge of financial or accounting concepts, processes, and procedures. Familiarity with financial data management and reporting systems. Proficiency in using spreadsheet and database software. Strong interpersonal skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, and attention to detail. Ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to function effectively as a team member. Capacity to adapt to changing priorities and manage a high volume of transactions. Ability to meet deadlines and deliverables. Basic understanding of internal control practices and their significance in protecting University resources. Preferred Qualifications We are looking for candidates who have: Experience working in a remote or virtual environment. Knowledge of financial software and systems, such as SAP or Oracle. Experience with data analysis and reporting. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. What We Offer We offer a competitive salary range of $24.28 - 37.88 per hour, depending on experience. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate, position requirements, and the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
