Our Information Designing group within DDSI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and executing ETL/ELT data pipelines, developing database schema/tables/views, and building batch processes using Apache Airflow. Job Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with our Studios or Enterprise Technology colleagues in various activities around data requirements gathering, data validation scheduling, and review, creating and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines, designing and implementing database architecture/tables/views, as well as deploying across multiple environments like DEV, QA/UAT, and Prod. This role will utilize a wide range of technologies to accomplish the job, including but not limited to SQL, Python, Docker, Gitlab, Airflow, Snowflake, Looker, and PostgreSQL. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines using Apache Airflow and other technologies Develop and implement database schema/tables/views to support business requirements Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and validate data quality Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability Deploy and manage data pipelines across multiple environments, including DEV, QA/UAT, and Prod Work with large datasets and big data technologies, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar Develop and optimize SQL queries for runtime and cost efficiency Participate in driving best practices around data engineering and software development processes Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: 2 years of experience with Python programming language 2 years of experience with SQL and database management 2 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines 2 years of experience with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS and S3 Experience using Apache Airflow, Databricks, and other big data technologies 2 years of experience using, designing, and building relational databases 2 years of experience using Gitlab/Github and other version control systems Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with Snowflake, Airflow, Gitlab, and other technologies used in the role Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or a related field Experience in the streaming, media, or digital marketing industry Minimum Requirements To be considered for this role, you should have: 2 years of experience in a Data Engineering role Proficiency in SQL, Python, Snowflake, Gitlab, Airflow, AWS S3, and relational databases 2 years of experience working with cloud platforms and big data technologies Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Disney, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
