About the Role: Staff Engineer – DevOps We're seeking an experienced and skilled Staff Engineer to join our DevOps team, where you'll play a crucial role in driving our insurance business transformation. As we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence at its core, you'll be instrumental in co-creating a culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement. Your expertise will help us build high-performance, low-maintenance, and zero-downtime platforms and applications, ensuring the highest standards of protection and availability for our customers. Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership to engineering teams, focusing on multiple areas and owning complete solutions across their entire lifecycle Influence and build vision with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems and build enterprise-class business applications Accountable for the quality, usability, and performance of solutions, leading design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization Mentor junior team members, sharing best practices and improving processes within and across teams Utilize programming languages like Python, C#, and other object-oriented languages, as well as SQL and NoSQL databases, container orchestration services, and Azure tools and services Essential Qualifications: 6+ years of professional DevOps experience, with a strong background in building high-performance, low-maintenance, and zero-downtime platforms and applications 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks and 3+ years of experience with architecture and design 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service, with a deep understanding of cloud architecture and DevOps concepts Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code, as well as fluency in DevOps concepts, cloud architecture, and Azure DevOps operational framework Strong problem-solving ability, with the capacity to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience with micro-services oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle, including task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, and real-time communication Familiarity with Azure Network, security protocols, and products, including Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, and OAuth Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments, as well as datacenter structure, capabilities, and offerings Strong understanding of CS data structures and algorithms, with the ability to design and develop ALM features and manage EAP Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At GEICO, we're committed to helping our associates grow and develop in their careers. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits We offer a competitive salary range of $105,000.00 - $230,000.00 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
