Role and Responsibilities • Oversee the day-to-day operations of non-perishable food and general merchandise sections, reporting to the Store Manager. • Assist with stock control, product presentation, and maintaining high customer service standards. • Unload merchandise shipments, restock shelves, rotate products, and ensure displays are neat and aligned with store standards. • Return misplaced items to appropriate shelves and support accurate inventory tracking. • Open and close the store at least once per week, processing overrides, handling returns, and completing bank deposits. • Support workforce scheduling, input payroll data, and help manage product orders to meet inventory goals. • Implement planograms, organize merchandising setups, and coordinate seasonal promotions. • Uphold a clean, safe, and organized environment through regular safety inspections and adherence to company policies. • Act as the store lead in the absence of the Store Manager, ensuring smooth daily operations. • Ensure team members comply with operational procedures and company guidelines. • Process customer transactions accurately using POS systems, handle payments, and bag items properly. • Participate in the 7-Day Workflow Plan, assisting with stocking routines and Find-Fill-Fix activities. Required Skills and Experience • High school diploma or GED is strongly preferred. • Three or more years of experience in a retail setting preferred. • One to two years of supervisory experience in a retail or grocery environment, or equivalent experience as a Dollar General key carrier. • Ability to interpret store performance reports and take corrective action where needed. • Understanding of cash handling, store security, and key management procedures. • Familiarity with food safety guidelines and the ability to obtain necessary certifications. • Experience with inventory control, product ordering, and merchandising best practices. • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Basic math proficiency and experience with cash registers. • Comfortable using retail systems and internal communication tools. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with recruiting, onboarding, and employee development processes. • Knowledge of planogram implementation and seasonal merchandising strategies. • Familiarity with sanitation protocols and in-store safety procedures.
