Job Summary The Senior Internal Audit Data Analyst will be responsible for utilizing a wide range of analytical skills to support the automation of manual tasks, data analysis, and visualization. This will include working closely with the Internal Audit team to identify and execute on opportunities for automation and data analysis, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business processes and risks, and developing and maintaining data analysis solutions to provide business insights and guide key decisions. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Internal Audit staff to identify and execute on opportunities for automation and data analysis Work in a fast-paced environment and stay up-to-date with emerging risks and challenges while learning new tools and technologies Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business processes and risks Develop, maintain, and improve data analysis solutions to provide business insights and guide key decisions Plan, perform, and document data analysis procedures to validate the adequacy and effectiveness of business processes, internal controls, and regulatory compliance Conduct investigations related to data inquiries and present findings in a clear and compelling story for business stakeholders Evaluate and maintain the quality and integrity of data being used by working closely with business and Data Warehouse teams Proactively monitor risk to identify trends that are sources of risk or potential issues, determine underlying drivers, and work with colleagues on next steps Review datasets for completeness and accuracy by tying them to sources of truth Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Data Management, or a related degree with a quantitative or analytical emphasis Strong SQL skills with a working understanding of databases, ETL processes, and data modeling on unstructured or ambiguous datasets across multiple business functions The ability to develop production-level code Proven experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Knime, OBIEE, Alteryx, etc.) Experience interpreting data, designing metrics, and analyzing results using exploratory and/or statistical techniques Related experience leading ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) work Experience presenting findings to colleagues across the organization, including executive management Excellent technical skills and a strong passion for data analysis and analytics, with a curious and inquiring mindset A self-starter mentality and ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment Proven analytical skills using SAS, R, or Python A basic understanding of statistical techniques like regression, predictive modeling, estimation, time series analysis, and clustering, and the ability to apply these to answer business needs (fraud analysis and anomaly detection) The ability to handle imperfect data and uncertainty, as well as both unstructured and structured data A minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, data science, or internal audit with data analysis Preferred Qualifications Experience with automation tools such as RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and APA (Automated Process Automation) Knowledge of predictive models and machine learning in fraud and anomaly detection Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Career Growth and Learning Opportunities At Chewy, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth and development.
