About the Role We're seeking a highly motivated and passionate Production Engineer to join our Battery department at Toyota's Production Engineering Battery team. As a Production Engineer - Battery, you will play a critical role in preparing, coordinating, and installing Powertrain battery QC equipment to support new battery production lines. This is an exciting opportunity to work on capital projects from planning to Start of Production (SOP) and contribute to the growth and success of our company. Key Responsibilities Lead the cost planning, budget creation, machine specification, procurement, validation, installation, registration & permitting, and correlation of battery QC equipment. Create and maintain detailed schedules and budgets for assigned areas. Understand QC area workflow and chemical usage to enable appropriate equipment layout in the QC lab. Learn machine usage and utilization rates to enable future VE proposals. Directly support other engineers or technicians through mentorship. Participate in cross-functional working groups across the local facility and corporate departments to achieve project goals. Participate in a mentor program to grow as an engineer and learn from others within the department. What You Bring Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or a similar technical field. 5+ years of equivalent professional experience with equipment installation in a manufacturing environment. Experience in production preparation of manufacturing for capital projects, including detailed schedule creation from initial planning to start of production. Experience creating and implementing processes in a manufacturing environment. Budget management for project installations greater than $250K. AutoCAD experience, including the ability to read, interpret, and modify 2D drawings. Ability to work weekend and shutdown work as needed, including business travel, both domestic and international, up to 25%. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Degree, higher than Bachelor's. Production Engineering experience in Assembly, Machining, Paint, Welding, or Stamping. Experience with material and sample analysis equipment and tools (scanning electron microscopy, gas chromatography, computer-aided tomography). Experience with chemical risk assessment and chemical handling. Experience and/or exposure to battery manufacturing processes. Experience and/or exposure to Toyota Business Practices problem-solving.
