We're currently seeking an experienced Application Architect to join our team as a remote, home-based worker. As an expert in IT systems architecture, you'll undertake complex projects, interact with business and IT leadership, and make decisions on architecture issues. You'll work closely with domain architects, delivery managers, and various departments to ensure adherence to our Target State Architecture and develop scalable, robust solutions. Key Responsibilities and Expectations As an Application Architect, your primary responsibilities will include: Developing reusable patterns, practices, and reference architectures through research, Proof of Concept builds, and collaboration with Allstate Enterprise Architects Ensuring the application of our Target State Architecture in the creation of business solutions, working closely with Allstate Enterprise Architects Providing consultation to teams on the tactical application of reference architectures and strategic direction of enterprise technology Interacting with executive-level leadership to communicate roadmaps and deliver highly complex solutions Communicating technology strategy to leaders and knowledge workers via roadmaps, conceptual diagrams, and solution documents Identifying opportunities for innovation through independent research and analysis of industry and technology trends Driving change within IT through communication with teams regarding processes, standards, and culture Supporting vendor selection and analysis processes by evaluating vendor architecture's fit within our ecosystem and Target State Architecture Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements To be successful in this role, you'll need: A college degree with technical study or equivalent experience 7+ years of technical experience in architecture/design, with excellent communication skills Experience with Web Services (SOA, Rest, Micro), Java development, and cloud technologies (CaaS, SaaS, PCF) Knowledge of Microservices, Web, and API security, including authentication, authorization, OAuth, OWASP, OpenID, and SAML Experience with NoSQL technologies, such as MongoDB and Hadoop, and distributed technologies like Integration and Design Patterns, Messaging interfaces (MQ, JMS, Kafka), and Business Process Modeling Preferred experience includes large-scale Digital Transformation Program experience and Benefits/Insurance Industry Experience Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Allstate, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
