About the Role We are seeking an experienced and certified Alaska Special Education teacher to join our team of dedicated educators. As a virtual special education teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with high school students, providing them with a personalized and engaging learning experience. This is a full-time remote position, offering flexibility and autonomy to balance your work and personal life. Key Responsibilities Teach high school special education students in a virtual setting, using a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to engage students and promote learning Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with other educators and support staff Provide ongoing support and feedback to students, monitoring their progress and adjusting instruction as needed Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive learning experience for students Participate in regular professional development and mentorship programs to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date on best practices in special education Utilize technology and digital tools to facilitate instruction, communication, and collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Alaska Special Education certification Experience teaching special education students in a virtual or traditional setting Strong knowledge of project-based and inquiry-based learning methodologies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability Up-to-date computer with a stable internet connection, and proficiency in using digital tools and technologies to facilitate instruction and communication Availability during normal school hours (7:30-4:30 depending on the time zone) U.
