Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Media Engineer II to join our team on the night shift (9PM-5AM) for data entry and high-level media operations. As a Media Engineer II, you will be responsible for ensuring the sustainability of our current technology, driving success, and delivering elite, personalized entertainment experiences to consumers worldwide. This role offers a hybrid work model, combining remote work with time in our office, and a competitive salary of $70-80 per year. Key Responsibilities Answer and resolve issues that impact production, broadcast, and content distribution across multiple DEE networks, including system outages, failures, and related technical issues. Investigate and troubleshoot web-based audio/video signals in conventional SDI and IP 2110 essence stream routing conditions. Investigate and troubleshoot cloud platforms as required. Manage third-party service providers by enforcing the agreed-upon scope of services within the various agreed-upon support agreements. Select, train, motivate, and evaluate technical staff; provide or direct staff training; work with employees to address deficiencies; implement discipline procedures. Determine and secure hardware, supplies, and materials for media technology systems within budget guidelines; acquire and maintain equipment and supplies. Develop long-range plans for future media technology needs, including capital upgrades, to improve production and distribution capabilities. Aid in the development and implementation of policies and procedures regarding technology facilities with an emphasis on increasing the integration of all systems to meet business, marketing, and entertainment objectives. Offer operational support for migrations of all kinds related to operating, maintaining, and programming the audio and video production/distribution systems across the enterprise and other associated properties. Perform and coordinate preventative maintenance on all broadcast systems and equipment to ensure optimal transmission performance. Participate in complex engineering projects at the direction of more experienced engineers. Review, maintain, and contribute to system/workflow documentation. Participate in training and development objectives; conduct peer training and development sessions. Essential Qualifications 3+ years of past and relevant experience in ensuring professional sustainment, uptime, and overall security of the technical environments of live media production and distribution conditions. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a similar major, or equivalent work experience. Demonstrated troubleshooting and supporting experience in at least one of the following: IP-based broadcast equipment, studio technology, record-based workflows, production control systems, transmission systems, and cloud-based technologies. Physical requirements and work environment: ability to climb ladders, work on elevated structures and building roofs, work aerial lift platforms, and have a valid driver's license. Ability to create, read, and interpret AutoCAD and other technical drawing/documentation tools. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and experience with on-prem and cloud-based storage and compute infrastructure platforms and current technological contributions. Knowledge and experience with SMPTE standards for broadcast TV and video production/streaming conditions. Knowledge and experience with compression methods like MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, and JPEG XS. Knowledge and experience with Evertz software control systems, such as frame control through Vista Link or Magnum, EQX/EXE switches, and their monitoring software VLPRO, SDVN, celebrity, VUE, MVP. Knowledge and experience with Nielsen (NACAT), VANC hardware, Direct Acoustics, and other related systems.
