Job Overview We're seeking a highly motivated and talented Systems Technical Support Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our technical support team, you will provide exceptional technical support for the installation, configuration, and deployment of SAS software running on Java Application Servers. Key Responsibilities Provide first and second-level support for external and internal customers, ensuring timely and effective resolution of technical issues Prioritize, diagnose, and manage customer-reported problems, including writing thorough and detailed problem descriptions Prepare and review written documentation to ensure accuracy and clarity Participate in installations of SAS software that utilize third-party application servers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration Record and manage confirmed software bugs, providing product feedback to development and marketing teams to drive continuous improvement Build technical relationships with development teams, third-party Java Runtime and application server providers, and other stakeholders to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends Report on and track feature requests and problems with third-party vendors, ensuring that customer needs are met and issues are resolved promptly Provide formal and informal training to Technical Support staff on various application server topics, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance team performance Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline) with 0-2 years of relevant experience Experience using Windows or UNIX operating systems, with a strong understanding of system administration and troubleshooting principles Ability to resolve user questions through a combination of independent study, investigative programming, and collaborative efforts with team members Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for learning and adapting to new technologies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Alignment with our values: curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Java programming language and experience with Java-based applications Experience writing and debugging script files on Windows and UNIX operating systems Familiarity with application server technologies, such as Apache Tomcat or IBM WebSphere Understanding of software development life cycles, including testing, deployment, and maintenance What We Offer At SAS, we're committed to providing a world-class employee experience that includes: Comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, and vision plans, with options to fit your needs and lifestyle Industry-leading 401(k) plan, with a generous company match to help you save for your future Generous time away, including vacation time, paid holidays, and our popular U.
