Job Overview We're seeking a highly energetic and solution-focused Senior Data Science Analyst to join our Query and Recommendations Analysis team. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with cross-functional partners, including engineers, AI engineers/data scientists, and product managers, to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive business results. Your primary focus will be on analyzing large datasets to inform our product recommendation guide, identifying areas for improvement, and developing new testing and analysis methodologies. Key Responsibilities Design, run, and analyze the results of A/B tests of new recommendation algorithms and systems, as well as develop new testing and analysis methodologies Develop and maintain KPI reporting and monitoring tools, including anomaly detection tools and advanced estimation approaches Conduct exploratory data analysis (e.g., clustering/segmentation) to generate new insights and inform our product recommendation guide Develop and maintain our in-house automated tools, such as a QA tool to better understand the performance of our new algorithms before A/B testing them Run unconditional exploratory data analysis to identify groundbreaking ideas and potential opportunities Plan and run A/B tests of our latest recommendation algorithms Proactively monitor our recommendation models to identify potential issues, determine root causes, and resolve Build new tools that allow us to be more efficient and effective Work closely and build strong relationships with our product, engineering, and AI partners Communicate key insights and recommendations to cross-functional executive leaders across the organization Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, or computer science Analysis or Data Science experience with e-commerce organizations, with a strong understanding of SQL (including total functions, query optimization, stored procedures, string parsing, Vertica/Hive/Voila/Flash, etc.) In-depth experience with Python and Python tools (Jupyter notebooks, functions, pandas, sklearn, matplotlib, etc.) Experience with experimental design (A/B tests) and statistical analysis to drive business independent direction, with a strong understanding of machine learning algorithms/procedures (decision trees, random forest, deep learning, etc.) Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners A proven track record of taking ownership and driving results, with a strong business acumen, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in a quantitative field, such as a Master's or Ph. D. in mathematics, statistics, or computer science Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing systems Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Google Cloud Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI Strong understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning techniques Career Growth and Development At Wayfair, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
