About the Role: Bilingual Opportunities Available We're seeking highly skilled and motivated Flight Attendants to join our In-Flight Services crew. As a Delta Flight Attendant, you'll be responsible for providing top-notch customer service, ensuring the safety and comfort of our passengers, and delivering a memorable experience that sets us apart from the rest. If you're fluent in English and another language, you may be eligible for our Bilingual Flight Attendant program, also known as Language of Destination (LOD). Key Responsibilities: Delivering Exceptional Customer Experiences Provide great customer support at an altitude of at least 8,000 feet, responding to passenger needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Assist clients in lifting and stowing baggage into overhead containers, ensuring a safe and efficient boarding process. Demonstrate the usage of safety and emergency devices, ensuring that safety requirements are met and passengers are informed. Prepare, serve, and promote beverages (including alcohol) and meals (which may include beef, pork, seafood, peanuts, etc.), providing a high-quality culinary experience. Answer questions and help clients when necessary, particularly those with special needs and circumstances, such as families with young children or passengers with disabilities. Actively seek to ensure the safety and comfort of clients in the event of delays or turbulence, providing reassurance and support as needed. Administer and coordinate emergency procedures or provide emergency care (e.g., performing CPR and basic first aid) when needed, staying calm and composed under pressure. Respond to and provide clear and accurate directions (verbally and/or non-verbally) to clients in the event of an emergency, ensuring that passengers are informed and safe. Make decisions to address issues in line with Delta policies, procedures, and core values, demonstrating a commitment to our brand and values. Work both independently and as part of a team to perform work tasks, collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals. Manage sudden changes in a time-sensitive and demanding environment, staying flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced setting. Practice safety-aware behaviors in all operational procedures and processes, prioritizing the safety and well-being of passengers and crew. What You Need to Succeed: Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following minimum qualifications: Eligibility to work in the U. S. Be at least 21 years of age at the time of application. Have a high school diploma or GED. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently. Ability to obtain and maintain a current passport and travel documents to freely enter and exit locations where Delta flies. Must have a valid passport with at least 30 months validity remaining before the first day of training. Complete a pre-employment Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test, and complete a background check, including a government-required fingerprint-based criminal records check. Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened. Ability to open emergency exits and close plane doors weighing up to 60 pounds and use of a food/beverage cart requiring 32lbs of force when pushing or pulling. Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data. Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking, and styles. Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the top priority. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when needed. Ability to work in a physically demanding role that requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting (i.e., pushing/pulling beverage or food carts and lifting and opening emergency plane doors). Ability to retrieve and store items in the overhead containers which may be as high as 74 inches from the floor. Preferred Qualifications: Standing Out from the Crowd While not required, the following qualifications can give you a competitive edge: Previous experience in customer-facing roles, particularly in the aviation industry. Fluency in multiple languages, with the ability to communicate effectively with passengers from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, staying calm under pressure. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with passengers and colleagues.
