About Our Team Our Walgreens Merchandise Planning Analytics team is responsible for managing reporting, analysis, and tool building for the Walgreens Merchandising team. We support a team of 100+ merchants and 40+ planners to optimize performance of the Walgreens Front End (non-Pharmacy) businesses. As a Full Stack Software Engineer on our team, you'll play a critical role in developing and implementing cutting-edge solutions to drive business success. Work Environment We're offering a unique opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in the Central Standard Time (CST) zone. Our flexible work schedule allows for 30 hours of work per week, with a standard 8am-5pm schedule (9-hour day with a 1-hour lunch break from 12pm-1pm). Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain complex Excel tools and models to support merchandise planning and analysis Design and implement data visualizations and reports to drive business insights and decision-making Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Planning, and Finance, to identify business needs and develop solutions Conduct item-level historical analysis and forecasting to inform business decisions Develop and maintain large-scale data sets and executive recaps to support business stakeholders Utilize advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and macros, to drive business insights Communicate effectively and succinctly with stakeholders through verbal and written reports Essential Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering Experience 3-5 years of experience in software engineering, data science, or a related field Strong understanding of retail merchandising basics, including category management and merchandising organization structures and processes Skills and Competencies Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize large data sets into meaningful insights Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and macros Strong programming skills, with experience in languages such as Python, Java, or C++ Ability to work independently and adapt to changing work priorities Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines Preferred Qualifications Education MBA or advanced degree in a quantitative field Experience Experience in retail or e-commerce Data science experience, including machine learning and predictive analytics Skills and Competencies SQL coding and database management Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure Familiarity with Agile development methodologies Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Workwarp, we're committed to helping our team members grow and develop their skills.
