This role is for one of the Weekday's clientsSalary range: Rs 3000000 - Rs 5500000 (ie INR 30-55 LPA)Min Experience: 5 yearsLocation: Remote (India)JobType: full-timeWe are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and help build scalable, low-latency, real-time systems at the heart of a global marketplace. This role requires deep expertise in Java and microservices architecture, with a strong focus on system performance, availability, and distributed computing. RequirementsKey Responsibilities: Design, build, and scale microservices with low-latency and high-throughput to power real-time hotel search, pricing, availability, and distribution. Implement complex algorithms and data models for inventory and pricing workflows. Collaborate with product managers and architects to own end-to-end development from design to deployment. Leverage LLM tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) and frameworks like LangChain to enhance development velocity using RAG, prompts, and agents. Conduct rigorous code reviews and contribute to an automated, CI/CD pipeline to support frequent and reliable deployments. Monitor and optimize systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch to ensure sub-50ms response times. Requirements: 4+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate. Strong expertise in MySQL, MongoDB, or ScyllaDB. Proven experience building distributed, event-driven systems using SQS, Kinesis, or similar technologies. Understanding of data consistency models, fault tolerance, backpressure, and circuit breakers. Experience designing low-latency APIs and working in high-performance environments. Familiarity with observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch. Comfortable working in a remote-first, asynchronous team environment with strong documentation practices. Passionate about clean code, automation, and driving engineering excellence. Nice to Have: Experience with LLM pipelines or agentic workflows. Exposure to Databricks, Spark, or data-heavy architectures. Familiarity with React or full-stack engineering. Background or interest in AI/ML applications.
