Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Exits Specialist to join our team at Ancora Education. As an Exits Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely reconciliation of student accounts upon their exit from the institution. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a strong understanding of federal regulations and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities The Exits Specialist will be responsible for the following key tasks: Processes Clearances, Withdrawals, Stipends, and Refunds: Processes all required Title IV/Institutional tuition refund and returns of aid (R2T4) calculations to ensure timely and accurate compliance with regulations. Assists in the reconciliation of student records and financial transactions regarding R2T4. Processes student requests for stipends via Ancora Education's refund disbursement partner (i.e., Sallie Mae). Manages refunds of credit balances according to federal regulations. Audits exiting students' accounts and reconciles charges and disbursements to ensure the proper approvals are granted for Extern and Graduate clearance. Complies with Title IV Funds Policy: Maintains detailed records to ensure a clear audit trail of stipends and refunds are kept. Contributes to the Continuous Improvement of Title IV Processes: Assists in the development and improvement of processes to ensure the efficient turnaround of R2T4 calculations. Attends conferences and stays abreast of regulatory changes to ensure Ancora Education's processes and procedures are compliant with all federal and U. S. Department of Education cash management regulations. Assists others (e.g., Student Accounts, Student Services, etc.) in assessing the impact of the new government rules and regulations and helps to implement any necessary changes to affected processes and procedures. Provides Clerical and Administrative Support: Provides clerical and administrative support to others (e.g., Revenue Specialists, etc.), as needed. Gathers information and prepares work papers to support audits (e.g., student file audits, annual federal financial aid audits, etc.). Experience and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications: Minimum Requirements: Associate's degree in Business or Accounting or equivalent experience. 1-2 years of progressive experience in federal student aid processing, including determining eligibility, disbursing aid, and student exit requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting (or equivalent work experience). 3-5 years of progressive experience in federal financial aid. 1-2 years of Business Office/Student Account reconciliation/auditing in a post-secondary education environment. Experience with student management software (e.g., CampusVue).
