Job Highlights Location: Remote (with the option to work from anywhere in the United States) Company: Apple Compensation: Competitive salary ($34-45/hour) and benefits package Position: Audio and Speech Algorithm Software Engineer Start Date: Immediate openings available Job Responsibilities As an Audio and Speech Algorithm Software Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for developing and implementing audio algorithms for our products. Your key responsibilities will include: Designing and developing spatial audio rendering algorithms for Apple products Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate audio algorithms into our products Working with researchers to co-develop signal processing and machine learning technologies for AR/VR applications, object-based media, and rendering content on all Apple products Developing real-time audio processing software and implementing device learning audio applications Participating in the development of audio features for Apple products, including Spatial Audio, Siri, FaceTime, media capture, and playback Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: A postgraduate degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (MS/PhD) Research experience in spatial audio algorithm development (patents, papers, etc.) Experience with spatial audio rendering (HRTFs, room simulation, VBAP, Ambisonics, mixing, etc.) Experience developing real-time audio processing software and implementing device learning audio applications Fluency in C++, MATLAB, and Python Working knowledge of physical acoustics and spatial hearing Working knowledge of deep learning toolkits (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.) Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates with: Familiarity with common software engineering practices Experience working with cross-functional teams to integrate audio algorithms into products Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess: Strong programming skills in C++, MATLAB, and Python Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Apple, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
