Job Summary As an Escrow Officer - Title and Escrow Transactions Specialist, you will be responsible for interviewing escrow principals to obtain pertinent facts, directing the preparation of escrow instructions, drawing of documents, issuance of title policies, and disbursement of funds. You will coordinate and assist escrow principals, their lenders, and/or agents in the closing of escrows, ensuring that all transactions are completed efficiently and accurately. Key Responsibilities Develop escrow documents in accordance with established policies and procedures Maintain escrow records and act as an escrow agent Draw and/or direct the processing of escrow instructions Facilitate the escrow process by reviewing the preliminary report to: Confirm that transfer documents are consistent with the preliminary report, as authorized in the escrow instructions Confirm that escrow is in a position to cause the required policies of insurance to be issued Prepare write-ups for the issuance of title insurance policies consistent with principals of escrow Reconcile between instructions and preliminary report with the Title Department and/or principals, and agents by obtaining modification of escrow instructions Assist principals to obtain releases of liens and other encumbrances as necessary Open escrow transactions; develop and/or obtain the appropriate escrow documentation in accordance with policy and procedures and applicable state and federal regulations Confirm and implement the terms contained in escrow instructions involving the financing, sale, or exchange of real property Assist with business development activities with the assistance of the business development staff Maintain regular and predictable attendance in the branch Supervisory Responsibilities This position may have supervisory duties, including training, assigning tasks, and reviewing performance. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to mentor and guide junior team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their success. Essential Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and four to six years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong understanding of title and escrow processes and procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interview customers and/or their agents to ascertain their directions Ability to transcribe the directions of customers, as expressed into escrow instructions and settlement statements Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Notary public certification Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and problem-solve with ease Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks Preferred Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business, finance, or real estate) Experience with escrow software and technology Certification in title and escrow (e.g., Certified Escrow Officer or Certified Title Officer) Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising teams Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits We are committed to the growth and development of our team members.
