We're seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Development Specialist - Donor Database Services to join our team in Boulder, Colorado. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality and integrity of our donor data, providing exceptional donor stewardship, and supporting the Development team in their efforts to drive fundraising success. About the Role As a Development Specialist - Donor Database Services, you will be responsible for processing and acknowledging gifts and grant payments, maintaining the accuracy and cleanliness of donor data in our Salesforce database, and providing outstanding customer service to our donors. You will also develop reports to support data quality and management, oversee procurement processes for the Development team, and assist with various data and event projects. Key Responsibilities Gift Processing and Acknowledgement Process pledges, gifts, pledge-receivables, and grant payments, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and document upload in Salesforce. Develop and evolve gift processing procedures to maximize efficiency and donor experience. Provide high-quality support to the team, communicating in real-time with Relationship Managers regarding payments and donor information. Collaborate with Finance colleagues to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws, maintaining accountability standards to donors. Donor Data Management Update donor records through research and donor communication, ensuring accurate contact information and gift attribution. Identify improvements and efficiencies in gift processing and acknowledgement flows using technical skills and knowledge of Salesforce, Apsona, Classy, etc. Run new or updated DonorSearch profiles weekly and validate potential gifts for donors with 5-figure potential. Procurement Oversight for the Development Team Submit requests to Procurement for new suppliers on behalf of the team. Oversee new contracts from creation to approval and PO creation. Prepare contract renewals in advance of expiration dates or NTE amounts reached. Data Quality and Database Services Maintain outstanding data quality in our Salesforce database. Create Salesforce reports and list views, build dashboards, and manage opportunities, revenue, and cash flow. Identify and correct upcoming and past revenue and cash flow discrepancies. Donor Communications Oversee and respond to inbound inquiries from donors and prospects within one business day. Follow up with donors regarding gifts as needed, providing excellent customer service and communication. Support the team with projects such as mailing materials to donors or distributing holiday cards. Data and Event Projects Assist with managing event invitees and registrants, researching critical data where missing. Update contacts to the appropriate account when auto-created through our email logging tool. Participate in other ad hoc data projects as needed. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience. Four years of experience working in a data support role. Experience working with donor databases or CRM software, preferably Salesforce. Proven attention to detail in data and databases, with the ability to work efficiently and effectively. Excellent knowledge of software including Salesforce, Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Macintosh. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with others in a professional manner. A passion for data integrity and a hunger for connecting the dots. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications will be considered a plus: Experience working for a geographically dispersed organization. Experience working for a nonprofit organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Calendar functions, SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with fundraising or CRM software, especially Salesforce.
