As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in driving the success of our innovative Connected Ag Climate-Smart Commodities Pilot Project. About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sustainable Commodities Technical Manager to work on our $40M Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities grant program. This program aims to enroll growers in at least 19 states, focusing on regenerative agriculture practices related to row crop, specialty crop, and livestock production. As a Sustainable Commodities Technical Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring commodity producers' engagement is optimized using insights from Farm Journal's proprietary database. You will oversee all technical assistance delivery to producers in the Delta region of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, guiding them through an innovation process of climate-smart agriculture practices and assisting them in selecting the correct practices and technology for their operation. Key Responsibilities Primary producer contact and support for Farm Journal's Connected Ag Climate-Smart Commodities Pilot Project from project enrollment to payment and reporting. Serve as a primary technical assistance provider and coordinate with partner assistance to provide producers holistic conservation planning, enabling them to make informed decisions on what practices and technology would best fit their operations as they transition into climate-smart agriculture systems and markets. Identify and coordinate the resources from the Farm Journal Proprietary Database to execute on-the-ground needs of producers. Develop a detailed project report for leadership throughout the grant on needs, changes, and updates. Ensure USDA local offices are aware of the applicants and that they don't have an existing USDA program on the same farm for the same practice. Measure project performance, report to leadership, and provide ongoing progress reports. Verify and monitor practice implementation through on-farm review. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Must be located near the Delta Region of the United States in one of the states: Arkansas, Louisiana, or Mississippi. Understanding of regenerative agriculture principles. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manager role or similar position. Proven project management experience and skills. Good client-facing and internal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to manage competing priorities with high regards to details. The capability to manage multiple projects and tasks on a regular basis. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Knowledge of the commodity industry, technology, and agriculture. Experience working with USDA programs and policies. Familiarity with climate-smart agriculture practices and regenerative agriculture principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
