What you’ll be doing:Adjudication and case management of short-term and long-term disability absencesFacilitate the recovery and return to work of employees on medical leave from worker’s compensation, short-term and long-term disability claimsPerform functionally focused telephone interviews with employees to identify and assess the factors that affect their ability to workRegularly document the case files and communicate with team members in order to ensure a strong partnershipLiaise with the employee, third parties (including insurers), the employer and various health care professionals in an effort to progress the recovery and facilitate a timely return to workDevelop, facilitate, implement, monitor and modify as required, return to work plansCoordinate referrals to appropriate health resourcesWhat we’re looking for:2-3 years’ experience in disability management, insurance or health related field with STD, LTDDisability Management Certificate/Diploma is preferredBachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Kinesiology or other related health disciplineKnowledge of Disability Management principles, practices and processesWCB experience would be an assetKnowledge and experience of the case management processFamiliarity with medical terminologyAbility to adhere to established policies, processes and guidelinesAbility to work independently as well as to contribute actively to team objectivesAnalytical skills with strong attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication (French and English) and conflict resolution skills to interact with employees, employers, team members and treatment providers in a caring, approachable, yet objective mannerExceptional customer service delivery skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to proficiently use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Custom applications, internet and OutlookWhy work with usHomewood Health is Canada’s largest and leading service provider for medically focused, evidence-based treatment of mental health and addiction disorders.
