ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assesses patient’s symptoms utilizing a physician-written algorithmsWhen appropriate, provide home care instructions using the approved, written guidelines as well as approved reference material providedUtilize all resources and guidelines to effectively assess, prioritize, advise, schedule classes or physician appointments, or refer calls when necessary to the appropriate medical facility, personnel or specialized community serviceCompletes all documentation in the appropriate softwareProvides guidance recommending a variety of levels of care (e.g. home care, an office visit, emergency room)Responds to patient’s questionsProvides and documents health education to help patients manage their symptoms when indicatedConsults with physicians as neededQUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:Current multi-state RN license with no restrictions; nurses currently holding a single-state RN license must obtain a multi-state license prior to being made a job offer2+ years of nursing experienceProficiency using computers and type a minimum of 25 words per minuteExcellent listening and comprehension skills to determine key information by patientProfessional, courteous telephone voiceAbility to defuse conversationsAbility to handle confidential information; HIPAA compliance is mandatoryFlexibility with scheduling [ad_2] apply to this job
