The IT Support Technician Mentor Role We are seeking an experienced IT Support Technician Mentor to join our team of freelance senior professionals. As a mentor, you will play a crucial role in guiding our students through their training programs, sharing your industry expertise, and helping them succeed in their future careers. Key Responsibilities Guiding and Advising Students: You will meet with your students on a weekly basis via video calls to guide them through their projects and provide valuable insights and advice. Inspiring Students: You will share your experience and expertise to inspire your students and help them stay motivated throughout their training programs. Monitoring Progress: You will track your students' progress and identify areas where they need additional support or guidance. Reporting Problems: You will report any difficulties or issues that your students are facing, ensuring that we can provide the necessary support to help them overcome these challenges. Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need: Bachelor's Degree and Professional Experience: A bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of professional experience as an IT Technician. Technical Skills: Experience with installing and configuring server operating systems (Linux/Windows), maintaining computer hardware, and updating simple websites or intranets. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: The ability to simplify complex concepts, set objectives, and provide constructive feedback. Freelance or Company Structure: You should have a company structure or freelance status, or be willing to establish one. Legal Authorization to Work: You must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable: Experience with Online Education: Previous experience working with online education platforms or mentoring students remotely.
