About the Role We're seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Global Treasury Controllership (GTC) team, which is part of the American Express Global Controllership organization. As a key member of the Treasury Risk Management & Reporting team, you'll play a critical role in supporting the management and reporting process, specifically in regulatory reporting. Your expertise will help ensure accurate and consistent reporting across our subsidiary portfolio, while driving key operational initiatives across the team. Key Responsibilities Provide subject matter expertise on accounting and reporting for subsidiary and supporting transactions, as well as fair value estimations, to support AXP and its subsidiaries. Support Treasury transactions, including insurance management, to ensure compliance with relevant accounting and reporting rules, as well as industry best practices. Perform daily security reporting and maintain up-to-date insurance-related documentation and controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Foster strong relationships with colleagues across Treasury, External Reporting, Access Management, Global Accounting Policy Group, Legal, and Tax. Participate in ad-hoc projects driving automation and process improvements. Document procedures and maintain compliance with derivative and valuation controls. Lead periodic control testing for SOX, Internal Audit Group (IAG), and Model Governance. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: 2+ years of experience in Audit, Accounting, or Finance – CPA or CFA candidate preferred. A strong understanding of derivatives accounting, valuation, and risk management – prior experience in these areas is highly desirable. The ability to think critically and apply a process improvement mindset. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: A deep understanding of financial regulations and reporting requirements. Experience with financial modeling and data analysis. A proven track record of driving process improvements and automation.
