Key Responsibilities As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for: Monitoring IT systems: Utilize industry-standard tools to monitor IT systems and identify potential issues. Troubleshooting and escalation: Conduct eyes-on-glass monitoring, perform initial troubleshooting, and manage escalations as needed. Documentation: Document all site issues using our issue tracking program. Creative problem-solving: Contribute creatively to the enhancement of site features and functionality. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the IT team to resolve issues and implement solutions. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Solid understanding of Linux and Windows: A solid understanding of Linux and Windows command line interfaces. Business acumen: Ability to grasp the impact of system issues on business operations. Eagerness to learn: Eagerness to learn and grow in a Linux and Windows environment. Attention to detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a strong troubleshooting mentality. Prioritization and time management: Excellent prioritization and time management skills. Communication skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Preferred Qualifications We prefer candidates with: Experience with VA or other Federal Government systems: Experience working with VA or other Federal Government systems. Military veteran status: Military veteran status. Familiarity with AWS Cloud services: Familiarity with AWS Cloud services, particularly AWS CloudWatch. Knowledge of monitoring tools: Knowledge of monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and Splunk. Education and Experience We require: Bachelor's degree: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Security, Computer Security, or a related field. Relevant experience: 2+ years of relevant experience; or 5 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education. Schedule and Work Environment This is a remote role with: Evening and/or night shifts: Evening and/or night shifts (7 pm to 5 am or 9 am to 7 pm EST @ 4 days/week).
