As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Wesco, you’ll take on a pivotal role in shaping cutting-edge solutions for a broad spectrum of clients. You'll serve as a trusted technical advisor, partnering closely with both internal teams and client engineering groups to co-develop next-generation products, troubleshoot complex challenges, and modernize legacy systems. Whether you're supporting new product development or rolling out large-scale retrofits, you'll drive high-impact results by combining deep technical expertise with strategic collaboration. As a key player in our solutions-focused environment, you’ll also harness the power of Wesco’s supplier ecosystem—connecting clients with emerging technologies, training teams, and amplifying value through thought leadership and innovation. Responsibilities:Lead technical efforts on complex projects including new product design, upgrades, and retrofits. Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, automation, and electronic engineering teams to deliver tailored solutions. Serve as a technical bridge between clients and suppliers, driving solution adoption through education, specification, and application development. Act as a subject matter expert on client and industry technologies, offering strategic insights and direction. Train and support Wesco sales teams with in-depth product and application knowledge. Deliver post-sales support, ensuring smooth integration and performance of implemented solutions. Identify and promote Wesco’s value-added solutions, working alongside sales and specialized support teams. Qualifications:Bachelors Degree – Engineering, Technology, Automation, Robotics or related field or equivalent education or work experience requiredMaster Degree - Engineering or related technology field preferred5 years required, 7 years preferred, of Electrical, Automation, Mechanical or Electronic design, application and/or technical sales experienceExperience of leadership responsibility managing project teams and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders. Proven track record in project managementsExcellent co-ordination skills with attention to detail and ability to effectively manage projects as well as support tasks and enhancements including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent communication skills with ability to interact at all levels both internally and externally. Strong project management / time management skillsStrong product knowledge and application knowledgePLC and HMI programming skillsPanel design and layoutProficient in solid works or similar softwareExcellent writing and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and technical skillsAbility to travel 25% - 50% This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements. For eligible positions, compensation may also include participation in a bonus or sales compensation plan paid according to achievement against sales targets and/or business objectives. Depending on the role, equity and other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package.
