About the Role The District Sales Manager position is a critical part of our sales team, responsible for serving as the primary point of contact for Toyota Dealers within an assigned district on all vehicle sales-related activities. Reporting to the Vehicle Field Sales Manager, you'll be tasked with supporting the Portland Regional Office's objective to leverage relationships with assigned Toyota Dealers, influencing their continued reinvestment into their people, operations, and adaptation to industry changes. Key Responsibilities Wholesale new vehicles to assigned dealers and sell PPO accessories, ensuring alignment with sales objectives and dealer needs. Analyze and recommend improvements to dealership new vehicle inventory, utilizing dealership revenue optimization tools to increase inventory efficiency and profitability. Lead SmartPath activities with dealerships in the district, including development, leadership, and management of SmartPath dealership awareness, communication, education, launch, and sustainment. Administer and monitor all Toyota sales and marketing policies and procedures to ensure dealers' understanding and compliance. Form professional and productive relationships with Dealer Principals, Dealer Management, and affiliates, fostering a collaborative and respectful environment. Develop and execute focused strategies aimed at both dealer and brand loyalty, as well as market share growth, ensuring alignment with regional and national objectives. Continuously review dealership operational performance, providing consultative follow-up to drive improvement and optimize results. Develop and execute industry-leading guest experiences at dealerships within the assigned district, sharing best practices region-wide to enhance overall customer satisfaction. Assign dealer new vehicle and pre-owned objectives, administering dealership new vehicle allocations and accessory penetration to achieve district and dealer sales objectives. Coordinate and develop balanced operations by working closely with the District Service & Parts Manager and eCommerce Field Specialist, ensuring seamless integration and support. Submit timely and professional reports, including contact reports, estimates, and net profit reports, to inform business decisions and drive growth. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree or higher in a business-related subject or equivalent professional work experience. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with dealers, colleagues, and stakeholders. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Extensive experience in the automotive industry, with a deep understanding of sales, marketing, and dealership operations. Effective presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and strategies to diverse audiences. Ability to travel up to 60% or more, as required, to support district sales activities and dealer relationships. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Field Management experience or related field role, with a proven track record of sales success and leadership. Advanced knowledge of automotive industry trends, technologies, and innovations, with a passion for staying up-to-date on the latest developments. Experience with dealership revenue optimization tools and techniques, with the ability to analyze data and drive business growth. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively in a fast-paced environment.
