About the Role As a Pharmacy Technician Call Center Representative, you'll play a critical role in our organization, serving as a subject matter expert in both pharmacy knowledge and call center operations. You'll be the primary point of contact for providers, answering incoming calls, processing prior authorization requests, and assisting with inquiries via various media platforms, including fax, secure messaging, and chat. Your expertise and excellent communication skills will enable you to resolve issues efficiently, ensuring seamless interactions with our clients. Key Responsibilities: Answer incoming calls from providers, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Process prior authorization requests accurately and efficiently, within the mandated timeframes set by our State clients. Complete authorization approvals for cases where all criteria are met, without the need for a pharmacist's clinical judgment. Communicate effectively with providers regarding the status of their authorization submissions or other inquiries, providing clear and concise information. Follow standard operating procedures for incoming calls, utilizing your knowledge and resources to resolve issues on the initial contact. Ensure compliance with all PHI protocols and secure handling of confidential company data according to policy guidelines. What We're Looking For To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess a unique blend of pharmacy knowledge, technical skills, and excellent communication abilities. Here are the essential qualifications and skills we're looking for: Essential Qualifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential, with a valid pharmacy technician license/certification/registration, as required by state law. At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in settings such as retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, managed care, insurance, or pharmacy benefit management. Proficiency with general computer skills, including Microsoft Office, internet usage, and email. Flexibility to adjust work hours to meet peak demand times, ensuring seamless operations. Preferred Qualifications: National certification from an accredited program, such as PTCB or ExCPT. Experience working in a call center environment, with a strong understanding of customer service principles. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and pharmacy management systems. Compensation and Benefits: Competitive salary range: $33,500.00 - $47,900.00 per year, depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
