About Our Team and the Department of Veterans Affairs Our team is committed to designing and modernizing application systems in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs. We're driven by a shared mission to improve the lives of veterans and their families. As a Nightshift Support Analyst, you'll play a critical role in evaluating and modernizing the Veterans Benefits Management System, ensuring that our nation's veterans receive the support they deserve. Key Responsibilities Triaging and Responding to Issues: Provide timely and effective support for critical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance. Code Refactoring and Debugging: Revise, update, refactor, and debug code to improve existing software and ensure seamless functionality. Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the SDLC, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned. Technical Support and Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on applications, providing technical support and guidance to clients and stakeholders. On-Call Rotation: Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, responding to critical issues and ensuring timely resolution. Essential Qualifications Tier 2 Analyst Experience: 1+ year of experience as a Tier 2 Analyst, with a strong background in ServiceNow monitoring, ticket response, ticket triage, issue notifications, application dashboard monitoring, and application performance. SQL and Relational Database Systems: 1+ year of experience with SQL and relational database systems, with a solid understanding of data and process analysis. Software Development Knowledge: Familiarity with software development principles and practices, with the ability to grasp concepts and flow of cross-platform data. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently in cross-team situations and independently. Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a security clearance, with a willingness to undergo a background investigation. Preferred Qualifications Jira, GitHub, Bitbucket, and Kubernetes: Experience with Jira, GitHub, Bitbucket, and Kubernetes, with a strong understanding of AWS Cloud Environments. Federal Government Experience: VA or other federal government experience, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements. Analytical and Organizational Skills: Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and a results-oriented attitude. Customer-Centric Approach: A customer-centric approach, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional support and service.
