As a Physical Security Engineer and Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of device companion products and services, utilizing econometrics and data-driven decision making to drive business growth. Job Summary In this role, you will support multiple data science decision groups for device companion products based on various factors such as device cost, stock, traffic, affordability, inflation, and more. You will use Science and Tools created by the Device Economics team, such as conjoint analysis models, to deliver companion product recommendations. As part of the partner-facing arm of the team, you will own relationships with stakeholders to help improve end-users' experience and make the Partner System more data and science-driven. In parallel, you will work with Applied Scientists, Economists, and Software Developers to provide valuable feedback about partner issues to inform business solutions and increase the speed, quality, and scope behind our recommendations. Key Responsibilities Support multiple data science decision groups for device companion products based on various factors such as device cost, stock, traffic, affordability, inflation, and more Use Science and Tools created by the Device Economics team, such as conjoint analysis models, to deliver companion product recommendations Own relationships with stakeholders to help improve end-users' experience and make the Partner System more data and science-driven Work with Applied Scientists, Economists, and Software Developers to provide valuable feedback about partner issues to inform business solutions and increase the speed, quality, and scope behind our recommendations Claim ownership of projects to drive progress on Choice Science itself Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: 3+ years of data scientist experience 3+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/numerical programming (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) 3+ years of experience with machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that influence their performance Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment 3+ years of experience in a partner or customer-facing professional or scientist role, and experience in business operations Preferred Qualifications Preferred qualifications include: Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language Experience in a machine learning or data scientist role with a large technology company Experience creating experimental and statistical designs for data modeling processes, use of robust baselines, ability to determine cause-and-effect relationships accurately Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to have strong skills and competencies in: Data analysis and modeling Machine learning and statistical modeling Programming languages such as Python, SQL, and R Communication and stakeholder management Business operations and strategy Collaboration and teamwork Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Amazon, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
