Job Description: Driving Success through Strategic Underwriting The Risk & Underwriting Advisor – Stop Loss is a critical role that requires a strong and diverse skillset to drive success. As a Stop Loss Underwriting Advisor-Hybrid, you will be responsible for developing and executing individual stop loss rating strategies, partnering closely with Sales and Underwriting to drive profitable growth and position Cigna as the stop loss carrier of choice among clients and brokers. Your key responsibilities will include: Owning a stop loss book of business for multiple markets and helping to advance portfolio management strategies Executing stop loss strategies, including growth and earnings objectives Applying expertise in benefit design, product knowledge, and large claim risk assessment to develop rates for new and existing business Engaging Sales and Underwriting to manage risk across the book of business and achieve rate execution and net growth results relative to financial goals for the portfolio Partnering with Sales and Underwriting to develop strategic recommendations and support negotiations Driving individual stop loss strategy related to market competition, products, and pricing for existing business and new prospects Training and mentoring new team members and business partners as needed Identifying and influencing underwriting best practices and providing input on product development and pricing Qualifications: Bringing Your Expertise to the Table To be successful in this role, you will need: 4+ years of underwriting experience with large claims risk assessment experience preferred Analytical skills, with the ability to assess financial risk and make effective decisions based on multiple information sources Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop highly respected, value-add business relationships through partnership and expertise A consultative and strategic approach to work and interactions with key business partners The ability to work effectively in a dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment The ability to foster collaboration across teams with diverse backgrounds and perspectives Experience with Microsoft Excel Skills and Competencies: What We're Looking For In addition to the qualifications listed above, we're looking for individuals with: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills The ability to work independently and as part of a team A strong attention to detail and organizational skills The ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits Ongoing training and education to help you stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices Opportunities for career advancement and professional growth A mentorship program to help you navigate your career and achieve your goals Work Environment and Company Culture: Join Our Team Respect and inclusivity Collaboration and teamwork Innovation and creativity A commitment to excellence and quality Compensation, Perks, and Benefits: We've Got You Covered A competitive salary range of $84,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience and location A bonus plan that rewards your hard work and contributions to the company A range of health-related benefits, including medical, vision, dental, and well-being and behavioral health programs 401(k) with company match Company-paid life insurance Tuition reimbursement A minimum of 18 days of paid time off per year and paid holidays Conclusion: Join Our Team and Make a Difference If you're ready to take your career to the next level and make a meaningful impact in the lives of others, we invite you to apply for the Stop Loss Underwriting Advisor-Hybrid role at Cigna Healthcare.
