Job Responsibilities As an Aviation Maintenance Technician - Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on our aircraft. Your duties will include: Conducting inspections and repairs on aircraft, engines, and components Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations Troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical issues Collaborating with other maintenance team members to ensure efficient and safe maintenance operations Complying with all safety protocols and regulations, including those set by the FAA Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections Providing technical guidance and support to other maintenance team members Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must: Hold a valid FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license Have a high school diploma or equivalent Be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States Pass a background check, including a government-required fingerprint-based criminal history records check Pass a DOT-required pre-employment drug screen and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing Read, write, speak, and understand English Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: One year of experience in aircraft maintenance or a related field Previous military experience Experience working with heavy aircraft or in the aviation industry One year of mechanical experience beyond educational experience One year of aircraft maintenance experience beyond educational experience Previous experience with electronics or aviation electronics, or an FCC license Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you must possess: Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and regulations Ability to work independently and as part of a team Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Delta Airlines, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
