We are now seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Game DSE team, supporting key channels for determining individual game and overall game portfolio performance. About the Position In this role, you will work closely with our game studio stakeholders to understand the types of data to be collected and collaborate with our game development teams to collect telemetry from specific games. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in distributed data processing, good and proven data intuition, and a passion for continuously improving the Netflix game. As a member of this team, you will create efficient, customizable, and scalable data pipelines for processing structured and unstructured data, develop a deep understanding of emerging domains in the Netflix game, and partner with Netflix's internal game studios to bring relevant metrics and game data into the Netflix ecosystem. Key Responsibilities: Create efficient, customizable, and scalable data pipelines for processing structured and unstructured data. Develop a deep understanding of emerging domains in the Netflix game. Collaborate with game studio leads to develop cutting-edge game metrics (retention, etc.). Partner with Netflix's internal game studios (Night School, Next Games, Boss Fight, and Spry Fox) to bring relevant metrics and game data into the Netflix ecosystem. Work with the Netflix SDK team and Netflix's third-party gaming partners (i.e., Gameloft) to get data through the Netflix Games SDK. Join a unique team of data engineers with diverse skill sets who work closely with analytical engineering and data science counterparts. About You To be successful in this role, you should be passionate about creating intuitive data products, have strong knowledge of at least one Java, Python, or Scala language, and at least 2 years of software/data engineering experience. You should be comfortable with advanced SQL, have experience engineering data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Presto, Spark, Flink) on medium to large data sets, and have conceptual knowledge of AWS cloud resources (S3, EC2, RDS, etc.). Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Strong knowledge of at least one Java, Python, or Scala language. At least 2 years of software/data engineering experience. Experience with advanced SQL and data modeling. Experience with big data technologies (Hive, Presto, Spark, Flink). Conceptual knowledge of AWS cloud resources (S3, EC2, RDS, etc.). Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Experience with data engineering tools (Apache Beam, Apache Airflow). Experience with machine learning and data science concepts. Strong understanding of software engineering principles and patterns.
