About the Role: Customer Service Agent - Remote/Hybrid We're on the lookout for talented and dedicated individuals to join our team as Customer Service Agents in a remote/hybrid setup based in Independence, IA. As a Customer Service Agent, you'll be the frontline ambassador of Grainger, providing top-notch service to our customers through inbound phone calls. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain strong customer relationships by handling a high volume of inbound phone calls with professionalism and empathy. Utilize multiple computer programs simultaneously to manage customer accounts, identify products, place orders, and handle order management tasks. Troubleshoot customer challenges, including pricing and invoicing discrepancies, applying credits, and implementing return procedures. Work in a fast-paced environment that requires periods of sitting for up to 8 hours per day, with the need for strong computer skills and multitasking abilities. What We Look For To succeed in this role, you'll need: A High School diploma or equivalent, demonstrating a foundational level of education. At least 1 year of customer service experience, showcasing your ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues. The ability to commute to our facility for the initial 8-week training and occasional onsite work, depending on your preference and work arrangement. A dedicated, secure workspace at home for remote work, ensuring minimal distractions and optimal productivity. Proficiency in navigating multiple PC-based programs simultaneously, highlighting your technical skills. Stable internet connectivity with speeds greater than 5 megabits per second upload, 15 megabits per second download, and ping less than 80 milliseconds, to support your remote work setup. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, having experience in a call center environment or with customer service software can be a significant plus. Additionally, a background in sales or a related field can enhance your ability to understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
