Job Overview We're seeking a highly skilled and passionate Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our product team. As a Staff ML Engineer, you'll play a key role in driving the design, development, and deployment of machine learning solutions that delight our users. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere, and we're looking for someone who is self-motivated, disciplined, and passionate about machine learning. Key Responsibilities As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer, your key responsibilities will include: Delivery and Execution (45%): Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy machine learning solutions that meet business requirements. Work closely with product teams to ensure user stories are developer-ready, easy to understand, and testable. Configure commercial off-the-shelf solutions to align with evolving business needs, and create meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to ensure proactive issue capture and resolution. Learning (15%): Participate in learning activities around modern software design, machine learning, and development core practices. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies through articles, tutorials, videos, and conferences. Strategy and Planning (20%): Research and analyze business trends and behavioral data to identify opportunities for improvement and new initiatives. Lead the evaluation, development, and recommendation of specific technology products and platforms to provide cost-effective solutions that meet business and technology requirements. Design and maintain tools for monitoring and support, and participate in project planning and management across multiple efforts. Support and Enablement (20%): Provide application support for software running in production, monitor production Service Level Objectives, and review performance and capacity of all aspects of production. Field questions from other product teams or support teams, and participate in conversations to encourage collaboration across product teams. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: 3-6 years of relevant work experience in machine learning engineering Expertise in ML development and ML ops lifecycle Experience working with multiple leading ML models Experience tracking key metrics for ML performance Experience with design patterns to employ AI and models Familiarity with GenAI models Experience in advanced machine learning techniques such as NLP, convolutional neural networks, autoencoders, and embeddings generation and utilization Experience in training machine learning models with extremely large datasets Experience with Data Analysis and Machine Learning Tools and Libraries like Jupyter Notebooks, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, Gensim, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc. Experience with GPU acceleration (i.e., CUDA and cuDNN) Experience in Google Cloud Platform and AI/ML related components such as Vertex AI, BigQueryML, and AutoML Experience in effective data engineering practices and big data platforms such as BigQuery, Data Store, etc. Experience in a modern scripting language (preferably Python) Experience in writing SQL queries against a relational database Experience in version control systems (preferable Git) Experience in a Linux or Unix-based environment Experience in a CI/CD toolchain Experience in REST and effective web service design Experience in production systems design including High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Performance, Efficiency, and Security Experience in NoSQL databases Experience in cloud computing platform and associated automation patterns and machine learning services they provide Experience in defensive coding practices and patterns for high Availability Experience in A/B testing and effective REST design for scalable web services architecture Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Additional years of relevant work experience in machine learning engineering Leadership experience in machine learning engineering or related fields Certifications in machine learning or related fields Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you'll need to demonstrate the following skills and competencies: Global Perspective: Ability to understand and appreciate different cultural and business perspectives Manages Ambiguity: Ability to navigate and thrive in uncertain and ambiguous environments Nimble Learning: Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and processes Self-Development: Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development Collaborates: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Cultivates Innovation: Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions Situational Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances Communicates Effectively: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Drives Results: Ability to drive projects and initiatives to successful completion Interpersonal Savvy: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and team members Career Growth Opportunities At Workwarp, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
