Job Synopsis The Agency Sales Manager is a knowledgeable authority for corporate travel management services at Alaska Airlines. As a single point of contact, this role exercises significant judgment to make decisions that drive consistent revenue, leveraging aspects of our network and corporate client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, marketing, and customer relationship management, with a focus on corporate travel and revenue growth. Key Responsibilities Act as an informed authority for Travel Management Company (TMC) business for Alaska Airlines, providing expert guidance and support to internal stakeholders and external clients. Build key business relationships with TMC accounts focused on business travel value propositions for Alaska Airlines, identifying opportunities to drive revenue growth and increase market share. With minimal direction from management, exercise extensive judgment to manage pricing, cost analysis, and negotiations of all TMC agreements, aiming to achieve the highest possible market share and yield in individual markets. Collaborate with legal and risk management teams to develop contract-compliant agreements that meet the needs of Alaska Airlines and its clients. Analyze revenue, margins, and contract performance to ensure objective compliance and profitability, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize results. Develop marketing-related promotions to support sales efforts, working closely with marketing and business development teams to create targeted campaigns and initiatives. Manage the administration of TMC agency accounts through sales calls, negotiating agreements, and coordinating with pricing and revenue management teams. Plan business development and lead the development of other agency accounts through collaboration with the revenue management team, ensuring that exceptional entries are filed accordingly and driving expected revenue per the specifications of the agreement. Monitor reporting and metrics to identify trends and develop a strategy to ensure the company is positioned appropriately in the market, staying ahead of competitors and capitalizing on emerging opportunities. Monitor revenue, commissions, and contract performance to ensure maximum revenues and sales objectives are achieved, taking corrective action when necessary to get back on track. Effectively manage and negotiate time and resources, maximizing revenue opportunities at the most cost-effective rate for Alaska Airlines. Prepare and execute a local sales plan in accordance with corporate sales targets, ensuring Alaska Airlines is strategically positioned among its competitors and leveraging its position in the marketplace. Required Experience, Education, and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need: 2 years of experience in outside sales, with a focus in the retail service environment or related area, preferably in the airline or travel industry. A Bachelor's degree, or two additional years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). High school diploma or equivalent. Must be authorized to work in the U. S. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Prior airline experience, with a strong understanding of the airline industry and its unique challenges and opportunities. Previous exposure to and use of travel industry data reporting sources like ARC and Crystal, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets. Proficiency with CRM tool Salesforce, with experience using sales force automation and customer relationship management systems. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive results to the greatest advantage of the organization, building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients. Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with different teams and workgroups, working effectively in a matrixed organization. Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to adapt to conflicts caused by competing needs and priorities.
