As a Product Data Scientist in this team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product and Engineering, to build extraordinary products that delight clients worldwide. Your primary focus will be on leading proactive investigations to identify and measure new opportunities, and conducting rigorous analysis to better understand client behavior and how clients interact with Google's products. Key Responsibilities Define, own, and refine product success metrics, working with Product Management, UX, and Engineering to develop a comprehensive metric framework that links to business outcomes. Report, track, and analyze key metrics, making recommendations to improve them, and identifying critical product functionalities and evaluating their business impact. Collaborate with Engineering teams to identify and address instrumentation gaps, ensuring accurate data collection for key functionalities, with a focus on business-generating client journeys. Work with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to influence, prioritize, and support product strategy, applying technical expertise with observational data analysis to address critical business questions. Deliver effective presentations of data-driven insights and recommendations to various levels of stakeholders. Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related quantitative field. A Bachelor's degree in one of these fields, or equivalent practical experience, is required. Additionally, you should have at least 3 years of experience in analysis applications, such as data analysis, statistical analysis, or business problem-solving, and coding skills in languages like Python, R, or SQL. Preferred Qualifications Experience with experimental design, data analysis, survey methodology, and statistical modeling. Experience in operational analysis or project management support, such as consulting, management reporting, or Six Sigma certification. Ability to apply statistical training to real-world data, and to complete projects independently and work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
