Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Child Development Technician to join our Kids First Fort Smith program. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality care and intervention to young children with developmental delays and special medical needs. This is a unique opportunity to work in a remote setting while making a positive impact on the lives of children and their families. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to a group of young children, including serving mealtimes, assisting with feeding, diapering, and dressing. Offer developmentally appropriate behavioral guidance within daily scheduled activities. Collaborate with the Early Childhood Development Specialist (ECDS) to provide individualized developmental services in a child-centered, family-focused manner. Create engaging learning environments and apply curriculum to address the objectives contained in each child's treatment plan. Establish positive relationships with children, families, and healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate records of child progress and program activities. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. 6 months of experience working in the care of children. Ability to pass state abuse registry checks, drug screen, submit to a TB skin test, and required immunizations. Preferred Qualifications: Additional education, such as CCOT, CDA, AA, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Experience working with children with special needs. Knowledge of child development principles and practices. Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with children, families, and healthcare professionals. Strong observational and reporting skills. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
