About the Role As an Embedded Engineering Director, you will be responsible for leading a team that develops software for Apple's current and future embedded devices, including iPhones, iPads, AirPods, Apple TV, and Apple Watch. Your contributions will have a significant impact on the development of future embedded products, and you will play a critical role in shaping the direction of Apple's technology. Key Responsibilities Lead, challenge, and mentor a team of engineers to develop innovative solutions for Apple's products Create feature definitions, prototype new ideas, and develop plans to drive projects forward Report progress to leaders, recruit new team members, and develop existing team members Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Hardware, Software, Test, and Operations, to drive project success Develop, debug, and integrate new device drivers, protocols, and firmware code across Apple's embedded software offerings Manage a team of at least 5 software engineers working on various projects Maintain engineering relationships with vendors and contractors Provide support for hardware development builds locally and remotely (optional) Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Strong experience in C/C++ programming Excellent troubleshooting skills, particularly with tools like debuggers and logic analyzers Unix command line expertise and development experience on Unix, Linux, or Mac OS X Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of standard hardware protocols (USB, UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe, MIPI, HDMI, DDR) 2-5 years of design experience and 1-5 years of design leadership experience BS/MS in CS/CE or applicable work experience Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working on embedded systems and firmware development Knowledge of Apple's product development processes and technologies Experience leading high-performing teams and driving project success Strong understanding of hardware and software interactions Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Strong technical leadership and vision Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to drive innovation and creativity Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Career Growth Opportunities As an Embedded Engineering Director at Workwarp, you will have the opportunity to: Lead high-impact projects that shape the future of Apple's products Develop and mentor a team of engineers to achieve their full potential Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success Grow your career in a dynamic and innovative environment Work Environment and Company Culture Workwarp is a company that values innovation, creativity, and teamwork.
