Conduct financial investigations, search public records, and summon taxpayer records and financial information. Collaborate with internal and external advisors, analysts, and attorneys to resolve complex cases. Prepare affidavits, statements, and testimony for court cases, such as summons enforcement or seizure actions. File and release federal tax liens, and take other enforcement actions as necessary. Qualifications and Requirements To qualify for this entry-level Revenue Officer position, you will need to meet one of the following requirements: One year of experience in collections, accounting, accounts receivable, or finance. A bachelor's degree or higher in any major, with Superior Academic Achievement (GPA 3.0 or higher, or rank in the upper one-third of your class). A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills and knowledge. For higher grade levels (GS-9 and GS-11), you will need to have specialized experience in federal tax collection, or a master's or Ph. D. degree in a related field, or a law degree (LL. B. or J. D.). Essential Skills and Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of business organization, commercial practices, and tax laws. Proficiency in financial analysis and investigation techniques.
