About the Role: Pathology Medical Transcriptionist We're seeking an experienced Pathology Medical Transcriptionist to work in a hospital environment, providing top-notch transcription services that support our pathologists and healthcare teams. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality transcription services, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring seamless communication with internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Prepare case conferences for pathologists, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of critical information. Track and own all pathology send-out work, maintaining meticulous records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Deliver gross descriptions on surgical pathology cases, utilizing moderately difficult medical terminology and demonstrating a strong understanding of pathology procedures. Transcribe codes accurately, ensuring compliance with coding regulations and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding systems. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of computers, word processing software, and dictation equipment, staying current with emerging technologies and transcription tools. Maintain effective interpersonal communication skills, fostering cooperative work relationships with internal and external customers, including pathologists, healthcare professionals, and laboratory staff. Research information as needed, utilizing computerized databases and other resources to support transcription services and stay current with industry developments. Manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities, demonstrating strong time management skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines. Answer phones and respond to inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and representing Labcorp in a professional manner. Perform other duties as assigned, adapting to changing priorities and contributing to the success of the team. Essential Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in medical terminology, with medical terminology training preferred. Experience with computerized databases and transcription software. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Flu vaccination required. Preferred Qualifications: Associate's Degree with 1 year or more of experience in Medical Transcription. Previous experience working in a hospital environment or pathology laboratory. Certification in medical transcription, such as RMT or CMT. Skills and Competencies: To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess a unique combination of technical, business, and interpersonal skills.
