About the Role In this exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on financial accounting matters, performing complex exercises related to financial reporting, and analyzing financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance. As a Financial Accountant, you will work closely with senior administration to resolve financial accounting-related issues, prepare and review account reconciliations, and investigate projects related to financial accounting policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Provide counsel to senior administration on financial accounting-related matters Perform complex exercises related to maintaining account accounts, generating financial summaries, and administrative reports Collect and review financial data for financial and administrative reports Review data from the general ledger, unit reports, and other financial systems to ensure accuracy Prepare and review account reconciliations and confirmations Investigate projects related to financial accounting policies, procedures, or systems Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal control policies Provide functional guidance and train individuals on financial accounting procedures Offer support for compliance and risk management requirements Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess: 2+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Analysis, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting, or Risk Reporting, or comparable experience demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education Strong knowledge and understanding of US GAAP financial reports or components preparation Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) skills Ability to interpret and summarize complex data into clear, meaningful information and recommendations Independent judgment and creative problem-solving skills to investigate, identify, and see downstream effects in a complex matrixed environment Preferred Qualifications To stand out as a top candidate, you will ideally possess: 2+ years of SEC/Regulatory quarterly reporting experience Fiserv data understanding and COSO-based Sarbanes-Oxley internal control assessment implementation experience Military experience or analysis experience, including operational management, project management, mission development management, and financial management 1+ year of credit card industry reporting experience and corporate/business loan products knowledge Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation Big 4/provincial public accounting/financial services experience Transitional Essbase/SmartView and advanced Microsoft Excel skills with VLOOKUP/pivot tables Strong knowledge and experience with General Ledger reconciliations and automation tools Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Wells Fargo, you will have access to a wide range of career growth opportunities and learning benefits, including: Professional development programs and training opportunities Mentorship and coaching from experienced professionals Opportunities for advancement and career progression Access to cutting-edge technologies and tools Work Environment and Company Culture Wells Fargo is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment that values diversity, promotes equality, and fosters a culture of inclusion.
