Job Summary As a Telecommute Healthcare Advocate, you will be responsible for functioning independently and traveling across assigned territories to meet with healthcare providers, discussing Optum tools and programs focused on improving the quality of care for Medicare Advantage Members. You will utilize data analysis to identify and target providers who would benefit from our coding, documentation, and quality training and resources, establishing positive, long-term, consultative relationships with physicians, medical groups, IPAs, and hospitals. Your expertise and guidance will help providers improve their RAF performance, coding specificity, and overall quality of care. Primary Responsibilities Travel across assigned territory to meet with healthcare providers, discussing Optum tools and programs focused on improving the quality of care for Medicare Advantage Members (80% of time) Utilize data analysis to identify and target providers who would benefit from our coding, documentation, and quality training and resources Establish positive, long-term, consultative relationships with physicians, medical groups, IPAs, and hospitals Develop comprehensive, provider-specific plans to increase their RAF performance and improve their coding specificity Manage end-to-end Risk and Quality Client Programs, ensuring accurate payments and compliance with CMS standards Consult with provider groups on gaps in documentation and coding, providing feedback on EMR/EHR systems and ICD-10 coding training Partner with a multi-disciplinary team to implement prospective programs and support providers in understanding Medicare quality programs and CMS-HCC Risk Adjustment programs Develop and present coding presentations and training to large and small groups of clinicians, practice managers, and certified coders Collaborate with doctors, coders, facility staff, and internal and external personnel on Risk Adjustment and Quality education efforts Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree (preferably in Healthcare or a relevant field) or equivalent work experience Knowledge of ICD-10, HEDIS, and Stars Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), with expertise in Pivot tables and Excel functions Ability to work effectively with common office software, coding software, EMR, and abstracting systems Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role, with compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as client requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably with Medicare Advantage Members Strong understanding of coding guidelines, including ICD-10 and CPT Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with healthcare providers Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable solutions Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with healthcare providers Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable solutions Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality Career Growth and Development At our organization, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
