Job Overview In this critical role, you will be part of our EE Integration Group, a rapidly growing and diverse team of engineers developing technology integration that defines how customers interact with Apple Home products. As an Electrical Engineer, you will own key electrical designs from concept to productization, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define the product, collaborate on architecture, and deliver exciting hardware products to our customers. Your expertise will be essential in driving the development of innovative Apple products that delight millions of users worldwide. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for Apple Home products, ensuring they meet functional and performance goals. Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering, to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs. Develop and maintain detailed documentation of electrical designs, including schematics, block diagrams, and bills of materials. Work with PCB designers to create and refine board layouts, ensuring optimal performance and manufacturability. Conduct lab tests and troubleshooting to validate design performance and identify areas for improvement. Travel occasionally to partner offices abroad to support design and manufacturing activities. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, with a strong foundation in EE fundamentals and circuit design. At least 3+ years of relevant industry experience, focusing on hardware system design and development. Proven experience with electrical design, including component selection, circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB/flex design. Strong understanding of EE basics, including DC/DC, power and signal integrity, and simulation tools (e.g., SPICE). Familiarity with digital communication protocols (I2C, USB, MIPI, PCI-E, SPI, TDM, PDM) and practical experience with lab equipment and testing methodologies. Excellent communication, written, and verbal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various technical teams at Apple. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable: Experience with CAD tools, such as Cadence or Mentor Graphics, and familiarity with PCB design and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for electrical safety and compliance. Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git). Familiarity with Apple's product development processes and design guidelines.
