As a Surgical Tech Certified OR - Part Time, you will play a vital role in our team, working under the supervision of the surgeon and RN to assist with operative procedures and provide exceptional patient care. About the Role: As a Surgical Tech Certified OR - Part Time, you will be responsible for assisting the surgical team during operative procedures, arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment, and supplies, and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed. You will also assist in preparing and moving patients, sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment, and rooms, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff. Key Responsibilities: Uses physician preference card to identify supplies and equipment needed for scheduled surgical or emergency procedures, and updates preference cards with any necessary changes. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure, and prepares solutions and medications used, properly labeling and reporting amounts used for charting. Prepares back table and mayo stand, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and using the surgeon's preference card. Assists in maintaining a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff, and adheres to infection control and safety protocols. Collaborates with the surgical team to provide exceptional patient care, and communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff. Qualifications and Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need: Essential Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of an approved Surgical Technician program. Basic Computer skills required, with one year of experience in a surgical setting preferred. Basic Life Support certified through the American Heart Association. Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. Certified Surgical Tech - National, with certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a surgical setting, with a strong understanding of surgical procedures and protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and staff. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of urgency and prioritization.
